Shortly after Warner Bros. announced the main cast of Suicide Squad, Varietyreported that Oprah Winfrey was the studio's top choice to play the main villain Amanda Waller. Today, Latino Review claims that Viola Davis has locked down the job. She has also beat out Octavia Spencer for the coveted role.

Viola Davis will play Prison Warden Amanda Waller, who, in the comic books, is a former congressional aide and government agent who is often placed in charge of theSuicide Squad, a semi-secret covert group of former super villains who work for the government in return for their freedom. Viola Davis has been offered the role as Amanda Waller, but she will need to work around her TV schedule. She currently fronts the popular new ABC series How to Get Away with Murder.

There is no official word from Warner Bros. and DC about the casting at this time. If confirmed, she joins a cast that also includes Oscar nominee Will Smith as Deadshot; Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg; Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn; Oscar winnerJared Leto as the Joker; Jai Courtney as Boomerang; and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Look for this news to be officially announced soon.

Suicide Squad comes to theaters August 5th, 2016 and stars Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney. The film is directed by David Ayer.
