On Monday, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that he is joining the DC Cinematic Universe, but he did not reveal which movie or character he will be taking on. He did hint that the iconic role will carry the same powers as Superman, and that this mysterious super hero comes when you say his name. Of course, this led to the speculation that he is going to play Captain Marvel in Shazam!. Today, The Rock has confirmed that he is taking a part in Shazam!, but it's unclear exactly who he will be playing. Captain Marvel or Black Adam.

Someone's going to get it...But who? As both Captain Marvel and Black Adam seem prepared to bring a good old fashion smack down. Right now, we can't exactly smell what The Rock is cooking. The WWE Superstar and action icon has been attached to the project in some form or another since 2007. Back then, during his shoot for Get Smart, he confirmed that he was playing Black Adam. This is, of course the villain of the movie. Black Adam is a corrupted, ancient Egyptian predecessor of Captain Marvel, who fought his way to modern times to challenge the hero and his Marvel Family associates. In the later comics he became a corrupted antihero who eagerly tried to clear his name.

So, who is Dwayne Johnson going to play in Shazam! Maybe we'll find out soon.
