Born to Haitian immigrants, and growing up in the diverse community of Flatbush, Brooklyn N.Y, HaitiStar reaches the masses with her soulful influences, which were before her time, such as Phyllis Hyman and Vesta. She carries a style unlike any other, fusing her Caribbean heritage, with the one of her new home by birth, the United States. While most youngsters were outside playing, Haiti found the love to play mature sounds and finesse her words on paper. She turned her pain into a vocal visual, an art-form using a plain 8" x 11" sheet of paper and a ball point pen.
She writes from a spiritual and alarming standpoint, as well as a world awareness standpoint. Unlike many others, she is able to write music at the drop of a dime, whether it's hooks or stories. This singer/songwriter doesn't stop there, she is an upcoming author and screen writer. I introduce to you, Jean Jolie! Welcome to her world!
