Less than two weeks since Sons of Anarchystar Charlie Hunnam dropped out of Fifty Shades of Grey, Universal Pictures has found his replacement in Jamie Dornan.

The actor, who stars in the Netflix drama series The Fall, was mentioned as a candidate for the coveted Christian Grey role, just two days after Charlie Hunnam's departure. He beat out other contenders such as Alexander Skarsgård, François Arnaud, Billy Magnussen and Scott Eastwood. Dakota Johnson is attached to play Anastasia Steele, with Jennifer Ehleplaying Anastasia's mother.

Charlie Hunnam reportedly dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with Sons of Anarchyand Crimson Peak, although other reports indicated the actor was unhappy with the latest script rewrite, and that he was unsure of whether or not he was right for the part.

Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing from an adapted screenplay by Kelly Marcel, which is being polished by Patrick Marber. We reported last month that production is scheduled to begin in Vancouver this November, although it is still unclear if the production schedule is being shifted due to the casting change. The story, based on E.L. James' popular novel, follows the torrid affair between young billionaire Christian Grey and college student Anastasia Steele.

Fifty Shades of Grey comes to theaters August 1st, 2014 and stars Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Ehle. The film is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
