Universal Pictures announced today that they are halting production on Fast & Furious 7indefinitely, in the wake of actor Paul Walker's tragic death on Saturday afternoon. Here's the official statement released by the studio.
 

"Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furiousfamily of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker."



In related news, Paul Walker's autopsy results were released today, revealing that the actor died from a combination of traumatic and thermal injuries, meaning both the impact of the crash and the fire caused his death. The driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal crash, Roger Rodas, died of multiple traumatic injuries. Both deaths were determined to be accidental. Toxicology results are still pending, and could take several weeks. Both men were killed when the 2005 Porsche Carerra GT Rodas was driving crashed into a light pole in Valencia, California.

Fast & Furious 7 comes to theaters July 11th, 2014 and stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham,Michelle Rodriguez, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Kurt Russell, Jordana Brewster, Lucas Black. The film is directed by James Wan.
